More than halfway into 2020, and still there seems to be no easy or clear resolution to the Covid-19 crisis that has grounded travel and pushed economies into free fall. We had hoped it would be a year of two halves, but at this midway point into the first year of the new decade, it feels like we are at “Year Zero.O” – almost everywhere, travel plunged to zero and almost everywhere, everyone’s trying to restart the engines – just that everyone’s at different starting gates, and some gates are having to close again.
In this episode, we take stock of the crisis thus far, catch up on what’s happening in different markets across Asia and highlight the common themes of recovery from domestic travel to product-market-fit and reinventing hospitality.
It is clear we are in for a long storm with severe headwinds which is why we must stay focused on the opportunities and keep our eye on the horizon as we sail into the second half of 2020 together.
